Mission Statement: The Canadian Sport Centre Ontario (CSC Ontario) is committed to the pursuit of excellence by delivering programs and services to high performance athletes and coaches that enhance their ability to achieve international podium performances.
The CSC Ontario came into existence in the fall of 1998 as the National Sport Centre Toronto and began offering services and programs early in 1999 primarily in the GTA. The Centre grew rapidly, based on need and the establishment of an effective delivery system through the service provider network. In 2002 the Centre changed its name to the Canadian Sport Centre Ontario and has expanded provision of its services throughout Ontario.
The CSC Ontario is a non-profit independent organization with a Board of Directors that includes representation from the founding partners, athletes, coaches and the business community.
The CSC Ontario provides services and programs to enhance the training environment for athletes and coaches in three primary areas of activity. Athlete Services provides access to a wide menu of services and programs for eligible athletes. Training Group Partnerships involve customized support to targeted high performance training programs, including coach salary assistance. The CSC Ontario also operates a National Coaching Institute (NCI), which offers the NCCP Level IV Diploma program. The CSC Ontario also plays an on-going leadership role in helping develop sport nationally and provincially, recognizing the connection between participation and excellence as being part of the same sport continuum. |
